Bucket of Awesome

It’s time for conferences, specifically blog conferences. I am attending two big ones- BlogHer ad Blog World. I also attend lots of various professional lunches, social media events, and plain old get-togethers. When you meet someone you like or find interesting, you want to get their info. Where do they blog, what is their twitter handle, website, email? All of this usually held in a business card, but if you represent several organizations, you can potentially carry around several business cards- I carry around 3 different ones at the moment. A friend of mine introduced to me to a much easier way to get someone’s information- a Poken.

Here is the poken website, so you can get the official spiel (and here’s a site where you can buy it in the U.S.). But basically, it’s like an electronic business card. You fill in your poken with all of your info (including TONS of social media info, if you want), and when you ‘high four’ to someone else, you each trade information. Then when you plug your poken back in your computer, all of you new contacts show up in a handy dandy time line. You can make one for each type of ‘card’ that you want.

Right now, I have the fox:

Hoping soon to get the ninja soon.

I still carry around cards, and for my next bucket of awesome I am going to show you the best cards out there at the moment- the Moo Cards. But for now, get yourself a Poken, and let’s High Four! (they make a couple of lines, but the “Poken Spark” is the best IMHO).
