So I need to preface this with a small story. I remember watching Grease at a friend’s house when I was in grade school, swooning over John Travolta and loving Olivia Newton-John’s perm. My friends mother snorted in disgust at the end of movie, I figured it was some religious objection to awesomeness. You know, being Jehovah’s Witness’ and all that.

Strangely, it wasn’t, though. She went on to say it was ‘sad that Sandy had to change everything she was to get the guy.’ I still remember that to this day, such a profound effect did it have on me. As girls, we all know we shouldn’t change the very fabric of who we are for some guy (or girl) is wrong and toxic. It doesn’t change that we all do it…..
